We take tyre safety very seriously and are always happy to help with a free tyre safety check. Our expert tyre fitters will analyse the wear and tear of your tyres, check your pressures and provide you with the best possible advice.
Worn tyres are particularly dangerous in the wet because a tyres tread helps disperse water away from the contact patch between your tyres and the road. Many tyres have tread wear indicator bars moulded into the tread. When the tread is worn down to where you can see a solid bar of rubber across the width of the tread, (the wear bar) it is time to replace your tyre.
Driving on under inflated tyres is almost certain to cause serious damage, it may also reduce your vehicles braking and handling capabilities and lead to serious tyre failure.
Always inflate tyres to the suggested pressure and take action immediately to rectify any unusual sounds or vibrations. Tyre balance and vehicle wheel alignment should be checked regularly, (ie every 10,000km), especially if your tyres are subjected to rough roads or aggressive driving.
